I have a scraper for this but over the past few days there seems to be quite a lot starting to grow on the glass and bogwood. Any way i can control this? x

Tank size..... Amount of natural and artificial lighting...... What current fish....... I have plecos that I move around from tank to tank once alge is noticed and within a day or two, even the most stubborn cases are cleared.

Its a 240l fluval roma. Its just the standard lighting that came with it and is away from direct sunlight. I have a variety of community fish eg guppies, platies, mollies, corydoras, tetras and i have 2 bristlenose catfish but it still seems to be taking over  x

What does the algae look like? Depending on what kind it is, the solution might vary. Different algae eaters eat different kinds of algae, and some types can't be eaten.

Any live plants? Most algae will be outcompeted by plants in the long run, and in my experience, even a moderately planted tank will eventually "outgrow" algae problems. There could be excess nutrients in the water - overfeeding, or not enough water changes. Water stats and your maintenance routine might help answer it, too.

Its quite a bright green and fur/hair like. I do have a few plants 3 differnet kinds, the names of which im unsure of. Im unable to take water readings today (long story!) but i have a test kit on its way. I recently did a very large water change to try to encourage the corydoras to breed but usually i do around a 30/40% water change weekly x

Just scrape it off :) wont hurt anything being there, its all about your viewing pleasure really.

If i ever want to get rid of algae i usualy take the rocks and bogwood out of the tank with some tank water and use a new tooth brush and scrub it all off. It works for me.
