What do you use to get rid of the algae on your tank. I have it covering about half of the front of my tank. I do have two albino catfish but they don't seem to eat it off. Need a manual way of doing it!

On my large tank I use a magnetic algea cleaner, as I can't reach the bottom without steap ladders :shifty: in my smaller one though, I use a brand new washing up scouring pad. They work a treat, but will scratch plastic tanks, so only use this method if you have glass walls. I'm assuming it is a big tank if you have albeno catfish in there, so a magnetic cleaner may be the easiest option. They are about £5 at the LFS :good:

I've never used one of those magnetic tank glass scrapers. Are they slower and more awkward than the sponges-on-a-stick?

If anything they are easier. It sometimes takes a couple of passes, but mine usualy even gets hair algea off by the second pass :good: There are two types, floating like mine, and the type that sink. If they sink, they will be hard to retreave if you loose them (happens regularly untill you get the hang of it) but floaing are easy to get back. Be carful with them if you have sand also, if they pick any up, they will leave realy deap scratches in the glass, same as with any other cleaner
