Sorry if someone has said this before i did try to search it though...i went on aquatics-warehouse the other day, where i normally get my hikari alage waffers and it said this 'THERE IS A MASS SHORTAGE OF ALGAE WAFERS IN THE UK AT THIS TIME 06/02/06. Tetra are out of stock of their "Pleco Wafers" and there are no Hikari wafers in the country either. We have just managed to get hold of these 241 gm wafers after being out of them ourselves. We beleive that we have enough of these extremely good " Value for Money" wafers to last until 14/02/06. Orders will be treated on a first come first served basis'

is this a joke or somthing?
it cant be true?

Just before Christmas I ordered a whole selection from Birstall Garden Centre (www.birstall.com). They charged £3.95 postage but I really didn't mind as I simply cannot get any Hikari food here in London - and my fish just love and thrive on Hikari. So I made sure I have enough for a year at least now !

Hikari changed one of there ingredients late last year and didn't declare it on the import slip or it wasn't aloud(something like that!) so they cant import into the UK.

It could be at least 12 months before any Hikari gets into the country

Hikari is an excellent brand and while it's not a substitute for the more complete diets of their sinking wafers, if you are just in need of algae wafers, Wardley's Spirulina Discs are another good product. I can always find them more easily than the Hikari brand and use a lot of them. :D

Another good alternative is Nutrafin algae tablets, which sink or stick onto the glass, so most fish will nibble at them

ahhh so it is true...owwww....i liked the hikari and so did the fishys..nevermind.....is it just with hikari algae waffers or is it with all of there food?
