I have this grayish algae that looks like hair algae but with gray gel in between. It's grown all over my plants and it's killing my green cabomba plants. The all the cabombas are all yellow even the ones that don't have algae on them. I'm getting 5 cherry shrimp next week. Will they eat the algae? The shrimp are only about one centimetre long each. How do I get rid of the algae? And the algae is an inch thick.
Thanks!

If you could provide photos of the algae it would help with IDs.

Shrimps will eat algae but they wont clear it, Normally it's a issue with flow, light or ferts/CO2

I don't know how to post a picture because whenever I try it says the file is too big to upload. If I turn off the lights for a few days will it kill the algae?
Thanks
