Hi guys. I recently got rid of a cyanobacteria problem in a tank but the plants don't look as if they will recover. My question is, is it best to throw the old plants out and start afresh or might they reshoot with time?

1. They are black at the bottom and just a small amount of bright green at the top (mostly elodea and cabomba)

2. I don't think there's enough live plant left to consume new algae

3. If I throw them, is it worth taking the green bits off the top of the plants and trying to root them in pots/gravel.

Any advice appreciated.
