Has anyone ever tried to grow a Algae tank? Seems like it would be pretty easy. All you need are the worst conditions for live plants and algae will thrive. If you could control which species to grow, you could seperate them and make little patches all over the tank.

Haha, I'm actually kidding, but I wouldnt be surprised if someone has actually tried

cant say i have.it would be cool if u did that and put a ostiniclus and watch em eat

i had an algae tank. couldnt even see my fish through the dang thing, i had to look at the fish from the top. made my water look really dirty, but if you looked from the top, it was crystal clear. not very fun if you ask me, but it gave me a reason to buy otos

Well, I've thought of that before to use it as a substrate. You could need regular lighting and a lot of nutrients. No c02 because the doesn't help algae. I think it would look pretty cool, all you have to do it just clean the glass every couple of days to remove the algae.
