Alrighty, so I'm growing a carpet of DHG (almost there, woohoo!) and like every normal tank, I do get a little algae here and there, primarily on the glass. Which is no problem for most of the tank. My problem lies within the bottom inch or two of glass. The DHG has grown in all the way up to the glass. Over time I have built up a bit on algae on the glass between the substrate and tops of the grass where I can't reach using traditional methods. It's such a fragile plant that I can't scrub it with a toothbrush or magnet scraper otherwise I'm likely to either damage or uproot my lawn that I've waited months for. I don't have the patience, dexterity or eyesight go at it with a toothpick or anything. How in the world can I get this stuff off?! Thanks!

There’s really no way to get it off, without removing a thin layer close to the glass. I had the same issue in my 10g, when I tried to clean the glass behind the Java Moss.

You could just remove a super fine layer, just enough to get a sponge in.
