Algae Eaters

I heard about all that mess with golden algae eaters getting agressive and eating slime coats and eyeballs, and as such I'm returning mine (which was bought more or less on a whim, without researching first). I've had very little algae growth in my tank, but I would appreciate something that eats any algae that might crop up. None of my LFS seem to carry otos...is there another good choice? I think a ghost shrimp might be luch for the raphael i plan to get....and other ideas?

I hear bristlenose plecs are good algae cleaners.
