I have 3 tanks a the moment, and I always use bristlenose plecos for algae control, but im wondering what to put in a chiclid tank. What is a safe algae control solution for this?

I suspect most Syndontis catfish would be fine, but wait for some gurus to verify this.

Prevention is better, cut down on lighting times and prevent direct sunlight

BN plec is fine in a chiclid tank.

I have an L137 in mine but he doesnt help! My best solution is a scraper. Doing muchos scraping at the moment with the bright daylight :(

I've had bristlenoses with both new world and african type cichlids, keeping in mind I never choose the really aggressive types for my tanks. For my tanks algae control is my job anyway - all my fish are fed suitable diets so they don't do much for my algae anyway.

Of course, when it comes to my mbuna and tropheus cichlids I encourage as much algae as I can so I get a nice carpet of algae over the rocks. This allows the herbivores to graze - it's not much of a diet supplement but you do get to see that natural behaviour which is nice. Makes the tank look nice too, when algae is cleaned from everywhere except the rock structures.
