Albuquerque Zoo

We just got back from a trip to Albuquerque. We visited the zoo, aquarium and botanical garden and took way too many photos (almost 400).

Prairie Dogs - They were so cute. I wanted to bring a couple home.

Small Deer. Can't remember the name.

White Rhino - This thing was huge. The photo really doesn't show it's true size.

I was fortunate enough to get an up close photo of a peacock with it's tail spread.

Wood Duck - Not really a zoo animal but very pretty.

My favorites are the tiger, and the mountain lion, oh and the polar bear is adorable.

The prairie dogs are cute too, around here they are considered pests (cows and horses can break their legs in the holes the dogs dig) and are shot on sight.

Thanks. I can certainly understand about the prairie dogs. Their little habitat was full of very large holes. I really like all the big cats. They had a black leopard but I couldn't get any photos as it was in the corner asleep. Same with the jaguar.
