Are they actually nocturnal? Anyway i have 2 of them and they seem very happy in my aquarium...i just want to find some more information making sure that i keep them happy and that i'm hopefully not doing anything wrong? Does anyone have any info to help me out? Thanks

Yes, they are generally nocturnal and the light can hurt their eyes. Just give them a cave or 2 where they can go rest during the day and they'll be happy :) I often see mine during the day, but if I don't I know it's in the cave!

They like shade, and smooth rounded gravel (or sand if possible). If you have room it'd be cool if you could get a few more as they are a shoaling species. :)

Hi Kelso :)

Your choice of albino corys was an excellent one. They are actually a color variation of the popular C. aeneus.

While corys are nocturnal, they are often up and about during the daytime and are quite active during the mornings and evenings, often swimming up an down the glass.

The love having a cave or some low growing plants so they can get into some shade. 8)

Do be sure that enough food reaches them at the bottom of the tank. You cannot expect them to live on leftovers. They are particularly fond of live or frozen blackworms or tubifex worms and they thrive on them.

Since they are schooling fish, they would benefit from the company of a few more of their kind or even other cory cats. The bronze cory is their closest relative and they make a nice group, often playing with each other.

If you are thinking about trying to breed an egg laying fish, these corys are a good choice to begin with. :D
