Can I get rid of the bubblers in my 75 gallon?  I currently have a canister filter and am wondering if that is enough agitation to provide oxygen to the tank?

currently sparsly planted with 7 live plants....to be heavily planted one day

thanks

Patience Arbee. ;)  Some of us have been chasing spammers all day!

Yes, bubblers are more about decoration than anything else.  If your filter output is causing the surface of the water to at least ripple you have sufficient oxygen in the tank.  You can direct the outflow more upwards to ripple the level more, or raise the return bar above the surface allowing the water to 'splash' back in, which is a calming sound to me, but annoying to some.  This also increases oxygen dissolved in the water.

thank you!  Sorry I got my knickers in a twist!!

No worries.

BTW, are you sure you're in the US?  That's a UK expression!

My husband is from Manchester...picked up a lot of his expressions

That explains everything...

His expressions are even more mixed up than mine lol.  And even after him being here 15 years people can't seem to understand him, and he still gets the random marriage proposal from young girls lol

Not fish related, but I find it incredibly amusing to think that your husband says he gets his knickers in a twist a lot!

LOL more like..."don't get your knickers in a twist.."  to me lol

Being from Manchester no doubt he will refer to a tongue as a tong, I always find that infuriating :p

Not him, he HATES that sorta thing....the one that kills him is referring to 13 as ferteen.   He is a grammar Nazi
