Air Stone Gone Bit Dead

i bought an air stone a coupel of days ago, and this evening its started working less. there are hardly any bubbles now whereas before there were loads. ive checked all the cables and pipes and its all connected. the electric part of it, the motor bit doesnt sound as loud anymore. is there any reason why it would stop working as well? or do i need to take it back

edited to add: we have it on 24/7. should we turn it off at night or are they designed to be able to stay on

its ok. i found out the problem. the air tube had got caught behind the fridge and wasnt letting any air through
