try putting it on a rubber mat.

Put it on a base of filter floss matting, that way it wont starve the pump of air, acts as a secondary filter and will knock some of the noise down

fold a towel so its nice and thick and put the air pump right on it....works for me!

I have also found that if you tape it to the surface, it doesnt make as much noise as it does when you dot have it taped down. You could also buy one of those cell phone holders and use it as an air pump holder, i have tried that as well. You can also set it on a surface that is not going to allow it to move as much and then that should also cut down on the noise!

i have tryed them and i think i just got a pump too big for the tank so im off back too shop 2morro to get a smaller quieter 1
