Air Pumps / Air Stones

Hi

I have bought the smallest Interpet airpump and stone but can't achieve the effect that I want.

I want a slow, very gentle single stream of bubbles but the pump/stone combination that I have gives a wide torrent of little bubbles. A valve I fitted today just makes the bubbles smaller.

Any suggestions what I should look out for?

Any modifications I can make ?

With an airstone it would be hard to achieve a single stream. How about removing the stone ?

If I am using one to gently move water in a fry tank then what works is to tie a knot in the air line. Then just pull on it till flow is cut off to your liking. Its not good for your airpump motor though...
