Hi
I've got an established 60 litre tank (running for about 4 years now) which currently only has;
3 penguin tetras
3 ember tetras
3 danios
shrimp
snails

I am wondering whether to get an air pump mainly for cosmetic reasons really although I know it helps oxygenating the water. Any advice on quiet and reasonably priced ones?

All advice welcome

Thanks

Would help to know which side of the pond you are on. Are you US based, UK based or from anywhere else.

This would help in knowing what to recommend as each countries can vary in what they usually stock.

As for the UK side, I have ever only used one air pump, and that was about 2 years ago, an Interpet airvololution pump, did what it says on the box. Not particularly loud or anything but a decent enough pump. Cost in UK about 20 odd pounds.

Incidently, imho air pump do not do very much for oxygenating tank water unless its attached to a sponge filter or suchlike, or perhaps if its on pretty strong and the airbubbles causes ripples on the water surface then oxygen exchange is more likely at that point.

If its only used for airstones for a wall of bubbles, then thats mostly cosmetic / aesthetic looks pretty much.

Hi
Yeah I'm in UK so the one you have recommended sounds great, will look into it.
Thanks
