Ahh Im Confused!

hi my guppys gravid spot keeps going and coming back. when i look in the morings its not there then later it is there but its not very big. i dont get it before this happened it was getting bigger as i thought she was pregnant!?! but now her gravid spot just goes to nothing . does anyone know why?

Although Guppies gravid spots are generally more pronounced in pregnant females from what I've seen, lighting makes a huge difference. It's not uncommon to see it disappear and reappear.

more than likly she still is pregnant, when the light in tanks has been of all night and you switch it back on they dont always have a gravid spot, some are very clear but soon as they wake up it can turn back to black.
some females never realy get a dark black gravid spot so it can be a guessing game as to when they will pop, but the fatter they are the closer they get

A gravid spot isn't really a good way to tell if the female is pregnant. They always have it, but it get darker when they're pregnant. You should just check to see if she's fat. If she's been in a tank with males, she's probably pregnant.
