hi all. i love paradise fish and they seem cheap for their beauty and hardiness and i thought maybe it would be cool to have one and i just wanted to check with you guys first. and this is my only concern: aggression. are these fish really aggressive? would they beat up small angels (not too small) a few medium-large tetras, a tiger barb, a dwarf gourami, and 3 melon barbs? thanks all!

from what i know they can be very agrressive and even kill small fish
they will fight with gouramis and eat fry

also im sure your aware they have long fins, this poses a problem for your tiger barb, who will nip them alot

I thought paradise fish were cool water/temperate fish not tropical?

I have a pair of paradise fish in my community tank with

blue gourami
gold gourami
kissing gourami
various tetra inc neons
clown loaches
odessa barbs
bollivian rams
cories
botia loaches
bala sharks
cigar sharks
etc

I read about them supposedly being aggressive but i have had no problems with mine, your tiger barbs may pose a problem with the long fins of the male but other than that i can't see there being a problem

If you decide to get them remember to only have one male paradise fish in the tank or aggression will be high.

well actually on paper the're not exactly Puntius tetrazona (tiger barbs), but really six stripe barbs (i dont no the scientific name) but the are longer not as tall as tigers. maybe that would be ok?
