well about a week ago i bought 2 females from walmart i do believe they r ct's...they were next 2 each other for about 2 weeks at walmart...so i figured they had time to get acquainted with each other...i have had my eye on them and decided to get them finally...well i come home and get them ready to put in a 10 gal tank with my very first female...well i put them in and the 2 new ones..a lot bigger than my first girl..start slapping each other with their tails...so i separated them and watched to make sure the one in with my first girl wasnt gonna mess with her...well she flared a bit and my first girl would run and hide...she kept doing that...so they never fought....well i finally let the other 1 back in with the 3 females and they all seemed to get along FOR THE MOST PART 4 a couple of days...well 2day i see that my favorite little girl is beat up bad...so now she is in a bowl getting treated when she gets better im gonna let her have the 10 gal to herself and put the other 2 in bowls since they wanna be bullies...it piss me off anyways thats all i wanted 2 say...does any1 else have very aggressive females? like i said these 2 i bought r twice as big as my other girl...could it be because they r different kinds? who knows

well females should be kept in groups of atleast 6. get 3 more then add the mix to the 10gal. should straightin things out. usually with groups of 3 one gets messed with REALLY bad

Actually, the accepted minimum is 4. But 6 tends to be the magic number as far as ensuring peace.

It really depends on the females. Fairly aggressive ones need to be in large groups, very submissive ones can be in just about any group as long as they aren't being picked on, and extremely psychotic ones must be kept alone.
