agressive betta

I have a bad problem. My new betta is fighting with my gourami. THis has never ever happened with my bettas and gouramis before. I am afraid that they will kill each other I don't know what to do!

i just had the identical situation
i even planted the tank (even though there where alot of decorations/ fake plants and caves)
if this persists after a few weeks then this is your bettas true personality
they all have their own little attitudes
and sometimes the little buggers have to be kept in solitude
i had to put mine by himself but i gave him a buddy (who is seperate) but directly beside him
Surly joe (the betta) can be as mean as he wants and noone will get hurt!!!!!!!!
