my platy is chasing all the time my half black tailed guppy

he is not trying to mate he chases him away and no the guppy is hiding away
what can i do

How many males/females Platies do you have? Is it a male chasing the Guppy? Is this a new thing, or has it happened before? Did you change anything around in the tank?

If it's a male, the Platy may be feeling threatened of his territory, or frustrated because there are no, or not enough females.

both are males
its been happening a while now
nothing has changed

So you have no female Platies?

That's why then. Males don't usually get along that well, especially in that small of a tank, with no females. They will get aggressive towards each other, because they have no females to mate with, and see each other as threats. Naturally, the bigger faster male is going to be dominant, so that's why your poor Guppy is being terrorized. Can you possibly upgrade the tank? Or move the Platy to another one?

not at this moment i only have coldwater tanks now

should i kill him he is making the guppys life a mysery i neve5r see him and he is so cute
if so how

No, there is no reason to kill a fish for natural behavior. He's in a smallish tank with no females, what he's doing is normal.

Try to re-home him, or take him back to the LFS. Find somewhere for him, don't kill him.

Then either;
A. Upgrade the tank size
B. Get another tank
C. Try to find a home for him. Post on here, list him on another fish site, see if another LFS wants him...etc. If you were in the US, I could give you lots of options. Perhaps someone in the UK can come along and help you. :)

I'd recommend you add some females to your tank, but it's full as is.

My male platty can be a real pain and he's in with six females so adding females may not solve your problem.

You could try the simply options like Aqua Bid and/or Aquarist Classified. However, to begin with just post in the 'buy, sell and wanted section' on this forum - somebody should be interested.
