Hi

I am still new to fish keeping. My fishless cycle finished a couple of months ago and I have about a half stocked tank:

5 platies
6 guppies
4 mollies
4 cherry barbs

I had 6 platies but one died of unknown causes. He went a bit crazy for a couple of hours (very jerky movements) and then finally he gave in and rested at the bottom. It was shortly after they moved into the tank so I put it down to that(?)

Now another of the platies seems to have some weird behavior - he hides for a lot of the time at the back in the plants (at the bottom) and then comes out for a bit and seems to be aggressive towards the other platies. I'd just like to know if this is anything to worry about or if I am concerning myself for no reason? He (she?) isn't fat enough to be pregnant I don't think.

Water levels are as follows:

PH - 8
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 10-20

Any suggestions would be useful.

Thanks!

**EDIT**

Oh and I have a 40 gallon tank in case that sheds anymore light...

Sometimes you just never know what has happened to a fish. Your water stats seem excellent, so that shouldn't be the problem. You could also check with Wilder over in the emergencies section.
