Hi,

I recently bought a male krib in thinking that he would be a nice community fish. I thought wrong he is chasing my other fish, nipping their fins. He is also scaring all of my corys away so that they have to swim in the middle area. I presumed when I bought him that he would only be seriously aggressive when breeding. Now I am wondering whether a female may calm him down a bit or draw his attention else where :fish: and I could place a cave in each corner so if they bred they would be in the corner and the fish would just stay away from the corner. Do you think if i introduced a female he would attack her?

Kribs are aggressive fish, anyone who tells you otherwise is a fool. Your best bet would be get rid of the KRib if he is attacking your other fish. Dont get a female as if they pair up it will get even worse.

Do a search on this forum for Kribs, you wil find loads of other Krib newbies with the same exact question

Trade the male in for a female( smallest ones are better), and she will grow with the community and wont be aggressive.

You're lucky, I half wish I could take mine back now, she's an absolute horror!
