Aggressive gouramis

hey there everybody i have 2 dwarf gouramis ( male i think because of their color) one of them seems to always chase the other one around and i think its nibbling a bit of the other fishes tail slowly. Is this normal ?

What do i do ?!?!

That is very strange as dwarf Gourami have a peacefull nature.

Many speices of gouramis are ver aggresive Dwarfs have a record of being peaceful. But it really depends on a fish I had 3 Dawrfs in my 55 gallon a few months ago. And they tore eachother apart espeacially on one perticular male. I bought another dwarf the next week they lived happily till one of them died of dropsy. Then I just gave the other two my cuzin and I kept one which has died of Unknwon reasons.

So it really depends on the fish How many gallons is ur tank?

I just got 2 male dwarf gouramis and they seem to be getting along fairly well.
Your tank is only 15 gallons and they become quite territorial. I recommend you heavily plant your tank so that they can hide, feel more secure and not look at each other all the time.

i have 3 gourmais in my 65 (2 opalines and 1 blue) and i was told blue's are the most peacefull of the gourmais and he is the 1 that does all the nipping

Dwarf Gourami are usually quite peaceful if their tank is large enough, and offers enough territory. However, if the tank is too small the fish will almost always fight. The best thing to do would be re-organize the tank, ie. move rocks/plants/decorations around so existing territories are broken and new ones are able to form.

Are there any other fish in your tank apart from the dwarfs?

i only got a 15 gal tank maybe thats why. Yup there are 2 corydoras. 3 mollies and 2 i dunnos. I tried moving around the plants and il see tom what happens
