Hi I was just advised to post my queerie on this discussion part, so here goes.

I have a fish which I cant identify which is eating and attacking all my other fish. Could someone maybe check my link pic and identify it and offer any advice please? Ive sectioned him off in a spawning box at moment but dont want to leave him there. The fish shops wont take him; too aggressive.

Thankss

My fish on photobucket site

well what tank are we talking about, how big?
how many and what kinds of fish do you have?

WOW The trees in the woods next to my house just got hit by lightning  what a loud crack,,,soz jump out my skin

Thanks so much; its a male adult bricardi; not sure what to with it now though, its too aggressive; eating all my fish.

Ooooooo.... Rain and lighting sound like paradise. It was snowing here today and blowing like crazy knocked some trees down and the power out for an hour. It was 70*F a few days ago, I hate my weather.

Once they start to eat fish is hard to stop them.
All I can suggest is rehoming the fish but you will just be putting the problem onto someone else.
or a tank of his own.

Taken from her thread in the emergency section.
This photo of my extremely bullyish fish is one which is biting and killing or even eating all others in tank and I have put him in a breeding chamber but cant establish its name or what to do. My poor fish are frantic. I cant just take him to shop cos they feel he is too viscious. I did buy him from a shop though but ages ago. He has always done this but I have just tried to add new fish again. The shop will stop me purchasing more at this rate.

aha i see,,
dont fish shops any you sometimes they sell you saying it will be ok then suddenly when you want to return them because of aggro issues they dont want to know
obviously not all fish shops are the same

You could try and advertise it on local aquatic society websites, or in buy/sell/swap areas, though I think your best bet if you can't take it to a LFS would be a local club. Where abouts are you located?

My Bricardi attacks and tries to eat 'any' other fish, like neons.

It chased and killed my white dalmation mollies yesterday so only have the female left; this one seems fine and swims out his way. Wonder if I should get another male; in fact I shall; they seem wonderfull fish.

I also have about 8 silver tipped tetras which cope fine.

Dont know what to do with the Bricardi; could advertise it online I suppose.

I'm in Coventry UK.

Thank you.

I've just rung a pet store; they said they have some more of the mollies so I will go now and get some; she also gave me details of a local place which take unwanted/problem fish... phew. Had I kept the fish last night that died, she said I could have taken it back and got one free; DOH! Lets hope if I get more mollies today, then they will all be okay, the tetras, mollies and I will buy some plants too, as seems they need some.

Many thanks for your help... sorry it took so much time today.

:fish:

I wouldnt add anymore fish to the tank till you sort the problem out.
Buying more mollies is just another meal to the aggressive fish that likes snacking on smaller fish.
You should be putting your effort into rehoming the fish.
