Aggression Problem

Hello

I just got a new angel yesterday and its about the size of a dime. I have a 29G tank and already had a blushing angel in there about the size of half dollar coin? She has never been aggressive with anyone but seems to really hate this little angel! I had put an angel in there previously that was slightly bigger than her and there was no problem but this little one is getting charged everytime she sees him. Will this ever go away? I'm just wondering if they are getting used to each other or if I need to get rid of the little guy. I'd rather not but this behavior is kinda odd.

My guess is this is a combination of...

• Cichlids being cichlids (the established Angel will see the whole tank as their home, which could possibly be remedied by a substantial furniture move around)
• Angels need tanks that have a water depth of 18" (46cm) after sand/gravel has been laid on the tank base, according to keepers on this forum. I suspect there is some claustrophia issue here in a 29g, especially if we are talking 29 US gallons rather than 29 imperial gallons.

Having just 2 angels together in my experience is asking for trouble.
I've taken in two pairs of angels, both of which fought constantly in their former owners'tanks which were much smaller, with one angel tending to bully the other. Now there are 4 angels in my large planted community tank there is much less agression and they get along well on the whole with few squabbles. Angels are cichlids after all and hence territorial. I would increase the number of angels to 4 if you have room. If not follow advice others have already given and rearrange the tank to abolish territories. If you do this, take both angels out and introduce the smalle one first, then the bully 30mins later.Might work -if not take the smaller angel back to fish shop

Thanks I'll try both of those. I'm hoping to have up to 4-5 angels total and am praying that I get a breeding pair out of someone...but obviously this kills the whole plan if my blushing refuses to get along with other angels. At this point the blushing is still picking on the little one and the little one has started to fight back @.@ we'll see what happens in a week...if things don't get better I might have to return him
