Is there anyway of managing a percs aggression as mine is bullying everything in the tank?

reduce the number of fish. what is the volume of the main tank (not including sumps etc) and what fish do you have in there?

130l only 4 fish 1 perc 1 firefish 1 pygmy cherub angel 1 mandarin at the rate he is going he will kill the firefish guessing its dismantle the tank time and back to the LFS with him

catch all the fish if possible, or separate them of into a section of the tank with egg crate. then re arrange the whole tanks rock work...introduce the mandarin and fire fish first...then the angel and then about 30 mins later the clown. that should in theory sort things...are you sure its a perc and not a maroon?

Was sold as a coral sea percula defo not the same colour as a maroon

Could also try adding another perc for it..select one smaller than yours, or a lot bigger. Pairing off will keep it occupied and they may start to host in tank then, defending this area and not taking over the entire tank.

I would be tempted to buy another Perc. Whilst what Truck says is probably best to do initially if the bullying is really bad, long term I would look to getting a partner for her / him (depending on which size you get).

If you sit and watch a pair of percs, they spend a hell of a lot of time together, they really are characters too. The ability of the clown to bully fish will probably get worse as it matures too. I have had my percs for 6 months now, the female today has at last defended her mushroom from the blennie. Previously she would have hid. (I do have very wimpy percs though, they hide at new additions)

To be honest the aggression towards the firefish is upsetting me so would rather get him out and back to the LFS and get some less aggresive fish

He seems to have calmed down a bit now I have spoken to the LFS from the shop I bought him from they have the other one left he shared a tank with but wont take him back (not impressed on last bit)

I have 2 options one I catch him take him back to a diffrent LFS and pick up something like a flasher wrasse and a goby (They sold the dracula today ( ) (suspect a aquascape dismantling)

or buy the other perc and put him in and hope they will leave the other fish alone

I would be tempted to not use that LFS in future if they will not accept stock back.

However, I would go get that other perc. Chances are in a pair, they will be ok and will grow up with the other tank occupants.

If you do by any chance have problems with the pair later, a pair will be easier to sell on, particularly if they are of breeding age, they grow slowly, Ben managed to get a breeding pair not long ago, they are not commonly found.

Thanks T that was my thoughts I will bite my tongue in there tommorrow and grab him I was just very worried about my firefish. in the TL550 with 18L water changes every week will this tank be ok with a Goby bio load wise (heading to my fav LFS tommorrow anyway to look for some more ZoAs ) might get them to get me a dracula if tank is ok.

It would depend on the Goby I think.

Once you have the perc, I would keep an eye on water stats for a little while.

A clown goby would probably be ok as they are such a small bioload but a watchman or similar size may be pushing it.

Citron Goby`s look very nice but do these feed off copepods ?

Dracula gobies are rare as hens teeth - shame you didn't get him. They are so funny when they open their mouths wide and show their fangs, mind you I wouldn't want to be bitten by mine
