Hi

We have a brood of 2 month old mollies which have been bred in our tank.  We have noticed that they are very aggressive and nippy towards our other fish i.e adult mollies, guppies and platys.

I used to keep livebearers many years ago and have never noticed this before with young mollies.  Does anyone else have experience of this and does anyone have any answers as to what to do ?

All answers would be gratfullly appreciated

Our tank is 180 jewel with external eihm filter - all parameters are fine and all fish are healthy

Mollies can be quite aggressive little wossnames, I've had some really nasty bossy females in my time.

Assuming that yours aren't stressed through poor water quality, there isn't much you can do. Best to check that your ammonia and nitrite levels are at 0ppm though, in case.

Hi Lock Man

many thanks for the response - all tank tests are fine - must just be unlucky and have downright nasty fish being born

regards
