I am considering switching to some new fish after I relocate my convict fry and the adults. Since the tank is cycled can I just put new fish into it, is there anything I should know before I do this?

I am just considering this, I do like my convicts. They are interesting to watch, my fry is getting much larger now. It is fun the watch 'em swarm a chunk of meat and literally rip it apart, I call 'em my little pirannas.

As far as i know, as long as you ensure the bacteria stays alive, i don't think there's anything else that should be done.

Just be sure that you don't put in too much fish (ie. a bigger bio-load than your convicts were) as that would prove problematic.

If you do choose to get new fish, maybe should do a large water change and clean the gravel a little while before you put them in. I don't really know if this would help or not, but it's just what I'd do. As long as your NO2, NO3 and NH3/4 are fine i don't see why there would be a problem.
