I recently got back into fishkeeping after a 7 year break, I bought a Rio 300, and after a poor attempt at trying to make a nice rocky habitat for the type of fish i was keeping;

I decided to go around the north east and pick up the best ocean rock i could find after being inspired by danon's tank, managed to pick up 60 kilos from various places, Chilton/Cyber aquatics/Tropical team \o/

And came up with:

I stripped all of the old rock out, managed to find 3 Julie babys about half a centimeter each scooting around one of the caves which i moved to my growout tank, should of been more but i think the Leleupi and Borleyi were very crafty at picking them off.

Here are some of the fish, I bought them all when they were 1-2inch apart from the Julies who are massive, and they have been growing fairly rapidly, the male stuartgranti is starting to color up alot slower than I would have expected for his size, but the male Borleyi is fully coloured after mating the other week (female spat after 3 days, she must of got pretty hungry and as it was her first time so shewas inexperienced), the Maleri's are too small to have proper colors yet but im sure they will come out amazing.

Male stuartgranti starting to color, tho he is very lazy and doesnt seem to care for the ladies at the moment.

Female Julie, the male seems to have lost some color since the rock change and hes being very lazy just sitting around on the sand looking at me like #### have u done, im sure they will re-bond soon, but im not sure they have any ideal breeding spots!

Sadly one of the Female Stuartgranti's scratched her eye at some point during the rock change, but im confident she will heal at first she was feeling very sad for herself sitting in the rocks a real grey color but today she has been back to her silver self and looking for food, and the eye looks less cloudy.

Finally a fullshot of filters and tank;

Eheim 2026 mechanical, Eheim 2227 Wet/Dry Bio, 25W UV Internal Filter and loads of random stuff!

I was planning to get some Cyprichromis Leptosoma for the upper range of the tank, but after changing the rock Ive lost some of the beneficial bacteria so ill give it a few weeks and let the tank settle down again.

thanks, Id already positioned the tank and had it filled with water before i remembered i had to put a background on it, Had to travel around a few shops to find one that had a rockbackground, I got the vallis from Cyber aquatics which is a local shop they have alot of quality plants but these are the only plants that seem to not get chewed up i think ive seen 2-3 loose ends floating around the last few days so they are doing well
