African Knife Fish

My knife fish decided to come out today...

He is in with my oscars, in their growout tank. Normally i only see him when the lights are out and hes nosing about the gravel eating. Today though he came out and was swimming about.

Not sure the Oscars appreciated it though, they normally have free roam during light hours!

Nice vid, I just love the way they move!!

When I first set up my tank I have a clown knife (bloody lfs) but took him back as I couldn't get him to eat. They toldme he'd eat cat fish pellets and at that time I wasn;t willing to feed bloodworm.

Had to take him back, shame I liked Ernest.

Cheers, its a 23.4 uk gallon tank.

Normally in the tank, they oscars chill when its dark, thats when the knife comes alive and no-one bothers anyone else, was just odd that he was out and about early.

I feed mine on sinking catfish pellets atm, he took well to them after i started to mix them with live food, and now happily eats just them, with the occaisional live treat
