African Cichlid

Hello everyone ive just home for the weekend my mother has been looking after my fish for a couple of weeks now and ive returned to one of my kribensis cichlids has a weird white lump close to the right eye what could this be please help bit concerned hope this doesnt affect my other fish

How big is the lump?

White spot is lots of little white 'freckles' all over the fish. It spreads rapidly.

How long where you away?
Could you do a test on the water? That would help a lot?
What size tank is it?
What other fish are in there?

Its about 60gallon tank and theres a variety of fish in the tank guppies plattys shrimps pleco and quite a few of the same cichlid that has the lump, the lump isnt very big about the same size of the fishes eye but its like a bubble ive never seen this before, i was away for about a week and a half and the water is 26 degrees c and pH7 what other test should i do?

Possibly popeye?

Does the white mark look furry?

no it doesnt look furry just looks like its full of white puss or something like that

Okay, thats a fair sized tank and its not overstocked so thats good :good:

and theres nothing wrong with your temp or pH

Its not whitespot but it sounds like a fungus.

If you could do Nitrate, Nitrite and Ammonia tests that would be great.

A picture would really help too

i will try get a photo as soon as the nitrate is 9ppm and amonia is 0 ope this helps

Nitrates pretty good. Its quite hard to get in on 0 as the cycle is always going on.

Thats pop-eye. Do a google search and you can read more about it and the possible cures.

I would reccommend doing a 25-30% water change just to give a bit of fresh water.
