Then we went into the Okavango Delta where we spent 3 nights on an island (in the middle of absolutely nowhere surrounded by crocs and hippos!) and we were poled on these mokorros (canoes) through the reeds in search of wildlife. These photos are of some of our fellow travellers and the polers:

(Possibly my favourite photo - note my finger ;) and the size of the chameleon)

fab thanks ! :D will do. Never submitted any photos for anything, but then again, never had a decent camera. I'd actually like to do a little evening photography course some time this year and really try to understand what it is I'm doing. All these pictures were taken with a week old camera and we've never had a digital SLR before - so would hope the pictures could only improve.

Wow Bloozoo2. Gorgeous pics. I just love the tiny chameleon!! My brother had one when we were in SA last year. They are so cute. :D

wow

that picture of the chameleon on your finger is possible the best foto i have ever ever seen. brilliant

I wouldn't get too excited - he's probably just got a really big finger.... :good:

Great pics Bloo - I guess that's some kind of DSLR? Can you tell us which - I'd say Nikon?

(Cancel that question - I've just seen your other posts - didn't know Canon did colours/sharpness so well!)

Is that bird a bee eater or a roller or something else - was he really close or did you use a long lens?

Thanks bobf :good:

Yes, that's a white-fronted Bee-eater. For that pic the 17-300 lense was used (as you can probably see from the depth of field where everything around the bird is a bit blurred).

With the Chameleon, that's my finger btw - and I have really small hands (I'm female too) ;)

We quite specifically went for Canon and not Nikon - though prices for that class of camera is much the same and wasn't a factor. Fantastic camera kit I can highly recommend.

Stunning pics Bloo, I cant get over the quality of your pictures and i agree you need to enter them into competitions. Though the chameleon was stunning i loved the pic of the sunset from the back of the boat.

Nice pics bloo, real nice, i like this and the first post the best, ive looked through them all, in the first post you really get a sense of the place from the people in the pictures, but overall great pictures thanks for sharing them :)

Why, sorry Maaam ! (I should have guessed - clean hands and all that..)

Well the kit you got is a little outta my league at the moment (USM lenses and all!) - top work, as others have said. Keep travelling and keep posting !
