Advise For The New Batch

This is going to be the second time I will strip my OB peacock. The first time was successful in stripping but unfortunate in keeping the fry alive as they got sucked through the breeding net. That lesson is learned. Now a different issue is in the horizon it seems. Today is the 11th day since spawning. Probably this weekend I will strip being the 14th day. And on Wed-Thu the week after (being the 17-18th day) I will be traveling. The question is for how long the egg sacks will feed the fry. I have no setup such as auto-feeders for a breeding net. Will my fry starve?

Depends. How long are you going to be gone? If they cant swim, they still have thier egg sack.

I'll be out for two days. Those will be the 4th and 5th days after stripping. Am I over-concerned?

They should be ok for a couple of days as long as they still have their egg sack.

However, for best results with fry you should really have a separate tank. As you found out the first time the adults are quite capable of sucking the fry though the breeding net, and won't hesitate to do it this time too.
