ok so i currently have 3 female guppies, on saturday im gonna go get 3 male platys. i was just curious if there was another type of fish that would mix well with these 2 types of fish? and preferably a fish that dont need to be schooled...

MrsHenessy, endlers would be ideal since they can x-breed with the guppies. IMHO, but do not use a female endlers to a male guppy because we do not want athe gene of bigger size fish in a smaller size female belly, it some sort like load sided overloaded for the female to carry the babies Endlers aren't really a schooling type.

Oh I don't want to breed them. Maybe I should of worded my question better so sorry that was my fault. But I have 3 female guppies, gonna get 3 male platys, and I wanna add one other fish with them. Just don't know what fish would get along with them, and I would prefer a fish that don't need to be in a school..

What's the size of the tank, and it's pH?

Among common livebearers, mollies would mix easily with guppies and platies. Again, none of your present fish require schools to be happy. I have had single guppies and platies in tanks containing mostly other fish with no problems. Almost any of the medium to small egg layers would work but just watch for fish interaction in the store. If the fish are schooling in the store, they probably would do better in a school situation.
