Advice On Treatment To Gourami?

Hi there,

I'm new to the forum and have owned tropical fish for around 4 years, after being left them. A kind of God Fish Father.

I know only the basics regarding Tropical fish & need some advice from people that really know there stuff. This is the first time any of my fish have shown any sign of an infection.

Tank - 120 Litres
3 x Gourami
1 x Common Pleco
2 x Silver Dollar
1 x Oscar
1 x unknown (very small length 3-4cm)

They have all been in the tank together for around 18 months, with no obvious signs of bullying.
A few nip bites on the fins from 18months back, but no body scars & no nipping now.

I need some advice with how to treat one of my Gourami's. From the above picture, I hope you can see the infection on the mouth. The fish it's self is fine, swimming around & it's behaviour hasn't changed. From looking on this forum, I think it would be best to treat the tank with 'ESHA 2000 FUNGUS,FINROT TREATMENT'

Am I right?

My local Pet shop fobbed me off with 'White Spot' treatment which I have carried out, but hasn't done the trick.

It looks like some form of blister doesn't it?

I would use a recommended treatment but sadly can't recommend anything from experience as I have only ever used Pimafix for fungal infections in my fish, which some wouldn't agree with on here.

I must mention that your tank is heavily overstocked for a 120L tank. Have you tested your parameters lately? What ffiltration have you got in the tank? The plec, silver dollars and oscar all have the definate potential to grow VERY large so you may want to address that issue really. These guys would benefit from much larger tank size and big filtration if I am not mistaken.

The plec is around 7 years old & 25cm long.
Silver Dollars & Oscar, 3 years old.
Dollars roughly about 8cm in diameter
Oscar roughly 6cm in diameter.

I did intend to get a bigger tank late last year, but became unemployed. So had to prioritise my spending. I'm hoping to get a bigger tank around autumn of this year.
My current tank is this

The filtration is this -

Poly Pad
Carbon Sponge
Nitrax
Filter Sponge Coarse
Filter Sponge Fine

I haven't tested the parameters for while & will do so on Monday.
