Advice On Stocking.

Hi all i currently have a juwel rio 125 which i am shortly upgrading to a 65 gallon tank. I currently have
4 neons
2 tuxedo platys
1 plec
1 dwarf gourami
2 blue rams (German)

Im just wanting to no what else i can add when i get my new tank. Any advice welcome thanks

I would make 2 more Neon (Tetras?) top of the shopping list, but ensure with LFS that they have been in shop tank for at least two weeks

Are you trying to go for any sort of theme?

A 15+ school of Hengeli Rasbora would look great!

A couple of more rams, I would size up the neons (advised above). Maybe add in some more bottom dwellers i.e. corys, khuli loaches.

Rasboros would look good, maybe a couple more Gouramis too.

i Would take the rams out because they need higher temps around 28C which your other fish wont like. Of sell the other fish and get a few more rams and a big shoal of rummynose tetra. If you do choose to sell the rams have a look at apisto they are just as colourful. Apisto do best in trios of 1 male 2 females In a 65G you could have
10 neons
2 tuxedo platys
2 plec
1 dwarf gourami
2 trios of apisto
10 corys

Well the tank theme is kind of Amazon with a rock and root background and lots of bog wood and root wood with a Zambezi sand substrate. The tank is currently running at 26c and every one is happy. I'm going to be getting an external filter so will i have to do another fish less cycle or is there anyway of transferring them one the new tank arrives

Rams dont last long in colder temps because they are more prone to illnesses.

Would i be able to put cherry shrimp in there just to add abit more life ?

Yup but they will become an expensive meal for your bigger fish

I have just added 2 Gold Rams to my tank along with neons, guppies & mollies and they are doing fine! Tank bred rams dont need to be at such high temps

IME and other people ive spoke to they still do alot better and alot less get ill at higher temps.
