Okay, i will most likely be getting a 30 gallon soon 36"x17.5" (or something around that)x12" and i want some advice on whether to put in some 5 banded barbs (Barbus Pentazona) or just keep the tank understocked because I want to breed some fish.

What i have planned for the 30 gallon:

6 Corydoras Trilineatus
6 Kuhli Loaches (Pangio Kuhli)
2 Bolivian Rams (Microgeophagus Altispinosa)
2 Cherry Barbs (Barbus Titteya)
(Sand Subrate)

Well I would really like some Barbus Pentazona (5 banded barb) but i want to breed the corydoras, then later the rams, and i will need room for the fry (after growing up a little bit in a 10 gallon). Well if i can get the barbus pentazona i would like to ask some questions about them:

Are they mean?

How many do i need to keep them comfortable?

Any other info i need to know about them?

I dont think you will have any trouble with Barbus Pentazona Pentazona, or Barbus Pentazona rhombosulatus. excuse the spelling.

I would say they are not agressive, and a small shoal would keep them occupied and give the cherries something to interact with.
