Advice On Planting A New Tank Wanted

Is the filter you bought the filter you linked to in the other thread? I'm not sure whether it'll break the filter but that is a hell of a lot of flow for a little tank!

The co2 stuff sounds good :good:

I know it's been said but anubias on bog wood will look very nice. I have some in a cold water tank and one piece (gets more natural light) keeps flowering away.

I also have some in a tropical tank (it's not been in very long) but it's getting it's first flower on it :). They've done well in my low light (natural light) tanks.

Also java fern is a good one of attaching to bog wood :)

Your telling me lol, Everything seems to be going ok with the clamp! I'll keep an eye on it though :look:

I have also tested the water this morning and everything seems to be the same as normal apart from the N03 which is now 0ppm? (I'll check again latter)

I am trying to persuade my wife to let me have a bigger tank in the front room where I can use the beast and get a smaller one for the two footer or stick the Tetrec back on,

(The Mrs. recons the house will look like a fish store) You either love them or devorce them

Anyway change the subject are you going to cross over to the C02 then as I have this little lot for sale?

All you need is the glassware to go with it!

My little 10LLtr has a 300lph rated external on it!!! Thats 30x on a tiny tank!!!

I would probably opt for something a little closer to 1200 on a 60 ltr not 2200. I think that really is going to be overkill

If you're dosing the tank with nutrients, you mayaswell not even bother testing for ammonia, but I suppose you could still test for nitrite if you were unsure.

hah, good luck! Would be good to get another tank

I'm not sure, i'm going to have to research it thoroughly ;)

Thats a lot of flow

Flow what flow I have reduced it with the clamp

I might stick it up on here to see what kind of a swap I can get if any?

I don't have any plants yet PD I am just waiting for my TPN+ fert to arrive, it should arrive tomorrow? I am quite lucky as I have at least 5 lfs's near me which stock pretty good plant's. So hopfully i'll start planting by the weekend!

I will have to find my camera to computer lead so I can upload some pic's

(The Mrs. has moved it again  )

What substrate are you using? just out of curiosity.

I wouldn't trust many of my LFS so I would definately do some good research on what plants you want. I bought all mine from a place near me, but it specialises in aquascaping so the plants were great (just a tad expensive :hey: )

will be great to see it develop. You should start a journal once things get going!

A smaller Eheim would be fine. I actually went recently from the Tetratec EX700 to an Eheim 2224. Both rated at 700lph. the Eheim is much better though. Doesn't get clogged so quick and therefore holds its flow for longer. That was pretty cheap. £80 brand new inc media if I recall. I used to swear by the Tetratec but gave up on the useless thing in the end. I guess you get what you pay for.

Get a SD card USB stick. then you don't need a cable and it uploads quicker to your PC. I was lucky that my PC had one of those media readers in the front already.

I decided to put my old filter back :ninja: N this morning as it makes sence.

(I think I was having a moment of madness)

Anyway

Just back from my lfs and bought 4 plants for £10 & unfortunately I have forgoten the names of the plants already :S I'll sort out my lead for the camera or get a converter for my SD card to show you guy's what I have and I'm sure you will be able to tell me what they are?

I have dosed the tank with 5ml of Tropica Plant Nutrition + and set the Co2 to 10 bubbles a minute & 8Hrs of light.

I am still waiting for my drop cecker to arrive:( Do you think 10 bubbles a minute is ok for now? )

Oh my substrate is fine gravel PD.

Would you know of a small in size powerhead make/model that I could put in the left corner to help move the Co2 to the right of the tank.

Edit Just sent these pic's from my phone.

This is what it looked like with Silk plants.
