hello. i have just bought myself a juwel 350 trigon and want to keep cichlids. i would like some advice on them, i know i have to have a lot for the aggresion but how many?also i want some bright colour ones so some advice on which ones to get would be great. i am going to buy small cichlids to start with because i would like to see them grow (also its cheaper). any advice would be great. the tank is a corner tank the size is 3f 3f and the front is about 4f its a bow front

I dont know what 26-28 is but all of my tanks are kept around 77-82degrees.

Look at your lfs (local fish store) for some crushed coral to raise the PH and buffer it. It's far better then trying to do it with chemicals.

what dechlorinator do you use? Personaly I recomend PRIME by seachem. It is very cost effective and long lasting with only 3 drops per gallon.

can you remeasure your tank please?

LxWxH thanks, I'm in the US and not familiar with the tanks over across the pond B)

oh sam, where would I be with out you.......

you're telling me this is a (roughly) 270 gallon tank? nice!!!

one more time, what are the parameters of your tap water?

erm, still riding your high horse?

jus googled the trigon 350 and its 350 litres (about 75 gallon?) so if you used a bow front tank calculator and got 270 with those measurements then they must of seriously over estimated lol.

Juwel Aquarium Size: 123L x 65H x 87W cm

there ya go.

mama that works out at 153 uk gallon (nice tank mate) and 183.75 us gallons. I can understand how this can confuse you, as for once we brits have something bigger, A GALLON, it is also 695.57 litres.

 :good:

here's the link, all you have to do is click on capacity calculator. :good:

The Trigon 350 is 350 litres, which is around 90 US Gallons. Nice tank :)

@Brewyn - Its a corner tank m8, i'm guessing your measurements assumed it was square/rectangle.

@ken25 - There are loads of species to choose from and most are brightly coloured, especially if you are considering Mbuna, which is what i would reccomend for your tank. Whilst it is large in terms of volume, its shape really doesn't suit the lager Malawi's like Haps etc.

Your best bet would be to research some species that you like the look of and post here for some advice on compatibility etc. :)

I sure did budd, started to wonder if all my tanks were measured wrongly then. I have a pre moulded fish pond that is bow fronted, would love to know how many gallons that holds. will throw measurements in later, so if anyone can tell me, it would be appreciated. :good:

   HAHAHAH

Well thank you guys (brewyn & ferris) for not acting pompous about the difference between US & European conversions I wish I knew them better and will look into the bow conversition site Thanks, I used c-f page.

I still think it would be helpful if Ken knew his parameters of his tap. Might take a bunch of worry or stress out of what fish can be kept the easiest. He's new to it so he's going to have to learn sometime anyway.
