Hi all

need some advice on external filters i have got a new tank two mounths old and would like to get an external filter because it dosnt seem to be filtering the water well enough on a 100L tank.
I have been looking at the fluval 205 and 305 but have been told that they tend to be very noisy and leak.another i have looked in to is the TetraTec EX external filter - EX700 would this be a good enough filter for the tank and also dose anyone have any experience with this filter (noise. maintinance etc.)
i am new to fish keeping and i am unshure on what dirrection to go in any advice that would put me in the rite dirrection would be very helpful.

personally i would go for the eheim 2224 or the 2215 eheim are the best around because of the build quility

Welcome to the forum Gary.
The EX-700 should be a decent size for your tank. I cannot buy one here because they do not offer them, but the Tetra-tec filters get a lot of good reviews by actual owners.

Thank you for your advise i have spoken to a few people now over the weekend i spoke to a guy who is running a JBL E700 who i know after looking at his set up on satarday and seeing how clear his tank was and the filter was very Quite i went and got one of them on satarday afternoon and am very impressed with the filter it is very quite less so then the internal that i had befor and after 24 hours the water looks a great deal cleaner then it did befor. I will keep posted on the progress of this filter.
