Hi everyone,

I have always been interested in aquatic life and it just recently dawned on me that maybe I should go ahead and just venture into getting my own aquarium. I really would love to have a marine tank, probably a nano FOWLR (10-20g, mostly due to space considerations, but budget as well). I am quite excited and I've been reading quite a bit about it over the last few days, and have a couple of books on order (Paletta's New Marine Aquarium and Fenner's Conscientious Marine Aquarist).

While I would love to jump right into it, my mind is telling me to slow down. Perhaps I should go ahead and get a freshwater tank with equipment that can be used for a FOWLR down the line. I am guessing this would allow me to get some valuable experience, and save my wallet and the lives of many fish... Plus, there is a real possibility that I may be moving out of state in the next year or two. So rather than shocking my aquarium and figuring out how to move fish and/or live rock, I'd have a few freshwater fish to donate to a LFS and just have equipment to move.

Sorry for babbling, maybe I'm just overthinking here. I guess I am looking for some reinforcement on this, and any tips people may have. Any suggestions on equipment that I should purchase that can be converted to saltwater later on?

Thanks in advance.

Best place for this post is in the merine section me thinks. I don't have experience with marines, so I don't realy know how easy they are to care for :good:

All the best
