ok about a hour ago i decided to use my magnet to clean the glass in the tank so i took it out of my other tank and put it in angel tank, when i was moving it about extremely slow my male just fliped it went all psycho he started darting from corner to corner then he wacked his head on the power head and kind of darted under a thin pice of slate the way he darted he had such force he burried half of his body i had to lean in to free him, there is no visual damage to his fins he seems ok now has calmed down,

i just dont understand he is normally fine with the magnet cleaner,
i just thinking about puting some safe guard in as it says calms fish down?
i have taped newspaper around the tank now so it cant see ne 1 walking past as my tank is in the doorway of my kitchen

I have never kept angels before, so I may be speaking from my other end, BUT... wouldn't a fish feel more secure if it had things to hide behind /near? The flat pieces of slale look nice and everything, but can't hardly be good for feelings of personal security. Put some plants in, and for now keep the paper up.

i was told not to put graven in there as we wanting to breed them.

advised to keep it a airstone and slate?????

its fine me geting plants but aint i going to disturn them even more leaning in the tank to put them in

thanks for the advice

Sounds as though your Angel got a bit nervous which does happen with most fish.
Like Bluetrane suggested, Angels like plenty of plants and vegetation so it might be worth adding a few in there to give them some security.

my angels have done this same thing twice,,,,you have to take care with these wimps<scared of there own shadows,,,,
plants would be good in there.....slate prob wont really enduse them laying there,,,mine like to lay on the filter/glass/rocks once/tall peice of bogwood a fair few times and plastic leaves of plants

As said, you won't get them to breed until they feel comfortable in the tank and the only way to do that is to give them plenty of cover, Your Angels will benefit from plants and even the tanins that the bogwood produces, which will all help to immitate their natural environment.

A breeding slate for angels needs to be verticle not horizontal. You can add either live or fake plants as well which will make the feel more comfortable knowthing they can hide someplace.

Swiped this pic off google for you to see:
