I know this has to deal with ADF's, but I thought I might get a better chance at some help in the more general forum... :*)

I got a African Dwarf Frog (webbed feet) today, and put it in a tank with sun spot brevises (dwarf shell-dwelling cichlids). And the ADF bit the brevis two or three times before the fish nipped him back. So the ADF is currently in solitairy confinement in a two gallon tank.

Was this just the ADF's way of telling the cichlid "I need some space" or will he continue to terrorize my tank? I'd really like to have him in my bigger tank, but not if there will be constant bickering...

Can't they all just get along? :drink: :flowers:

You know, it sounds to me like your froggie was really really hungry. -_- Often in petstores they don't get any food, and so they are very malnourished when the come home with you. When I first got mine, he was trying to eat fishie poo... He bites at the other fish too, but now it's only during feeding time. They hunt by smell, not sight, so anything going by the smells vaguely "foody" gets pounced on, and your fish just didn't know to get out of the way yet. I'm guessing that if you get froggie really fat and happy, you could put him back in. He'll leave them alone until it's time to eat, and they are invading "his" feeding area.

I wish my frog would do that he's so lazy he doesn't even move most of the time just sits in a cave or a plant and he's the only animal in the tank that my dwarf puffer can get food from.

Now I wish I didn't scold him....

He must have been hungry, because he scarfed down the frozen brine shrimp.

I'm also worried he might try to eat my dwarf puffer, and my smaller ghost shrimp (I think the puffer could fit in his mouth). Is it inevitable that the smaller ghost shrimp will be dinner?
