Additional Stocking

Oh, they are very nice tigers :)
All the ones in my LFS are really badly marked, with an extra black 'splodge' below the dorsal fin; yours are much nicer! I'm terribly jealous now :p

I recently upped the numbers in my shoal and the new ones are tiny compared to my adults and they've been fine, no trouble at all.

Thank you very much fluttermouth!

I have the choice of two LFS in the city. One had the smaller juvies that i was looking for, but their color wasnt quite bland and there were two who had no tail fins! so luckily my other option had some fine looking specimens, even though they were bigger than what i had planned on!

Hopefully i can have the same luck if i get some smaller green barbs. *fingers crossed*

sry for the typo!

oh? how often do they spawn? I noticed one of my fishes tails is not quite right either... but should come back around hopefully!

well it has almost been a week since i added my barbs. They are doing quite well, chasing each other about the tank and their colors looking fantastic! I'm not quite sure how my other fish like the newest addition though... My 4 largest platies don't seem to mind at all, but the 3 smaller females and the now three guppies (im sure i lost one, havent seen him in two days) seem... stressed, for lack of a better word. Maybe theyre still adjusting to all the commotion that the barbs have brought into the tank, but they are more 'quiet' than before. not hiding in a corner, but almost like they are watching their backs or something... Would you say i should be concerned, or just keep an eye on it.

I think once my one guppy is done with the QT, I might convert it into a straight guppy tank... I noticed one of my other males in the main tank has a frayed tail. could be from being chased or from my filters, not sure...

I am extremely happy with how my barbs are doing/looking and i may have to adjust my stock accordingly around the barbs... any suggestions welcome!

so i was watching my smallest female platy today, and she's got be a bit worried (could be nothing) She has been 'hovering in the shadows' for most of the day and it seems that she's breathing quite rapidly, with her mouth opening and closing with each breath. What does this indicate? I'm on my way out the door now, but i plan to do a water check when i get home. last test(2 days ago) came up normal.
