Could someone give me a few tips on adding slate to a tank?

I bought a shedload today and need to know what to do to the stuff before I add it?

All i did to mine was give it a good scrub in warm water and that was it. Been in tank now for about a year with no problems at all

thats pretty much it give it a scrub or a soak for a while and then bung it in :p

or if you siliconed it together then soak it for a day at least (some silicone can alter ph levels when not properly dried or when in first contact with water)

As Wrighty said, a good scrub and right into the tank has always worked for me. One of my old tanks even uses slate as the tank bottom instead of glass. Regardless of the era we work in slate is one of those rocks we all find we can trust for not changing the tank's chemistry.
