Adding Rocks During Cycling?

Hi All

Have just started cycling my tank. Are there any reasons why I shouldn't put slate in the tank?

I have boiled the slate for 20 minutes to remove any nasties

Don't see why not, I put some boiling water over my slate and it's in a cycling tank now
