thanx all :good:

Dont add any of the water from the shop into your tank. Net the fish and put him in.

I never add any other water to my tank.

Oooh, get some photos of the betta and your tank. will be really interesting to see. :hyper: :good:

I think everyone do things differently, and every single one has risks with it. So its just up to you what method you choose.

I'm no expert by any means, but if the water has anything undesirable in it, your betta will have been living in that water, so they will come with him even if you don't pour any of the actual water in. Unless you're going to disinfect him first, there's not really any way to avoid it surely?
Looking forward to the pics louis-drolling over bettas has become a bit of an obsession!

yes thats right hun

I just do it to be on the safe side, theres nothing wrong with my local Pets at home water - But you never know if there could be diseases in there. (I highly doubt it, Chatham is the No.1 Pets at home store for fish - according to the manager)

Yeah the fish has been living in the water, but thats why you acclimatise the fish... to prepare it for its new water conditions.
