I have a 20g(US) planted tank with 4 bamboo(singapore wood) shrimp, a pearl gourami, and a few cherry barbs. I would like to add a schooling fish of asian origin and I like the look of harlequins. If I put a group of 8 harlequins in the tank will the cherry barbs be pushed to the netheregions of the tank or will the maintain they're normal behavior? Will the pearl gourami be annoyed by the schooling action of the harlequins? These are my concerns. Any feedback is welcome, and thanks to all who oblige.

I don't know about Gourami but the 6 harliquin I have are great in my 30 gallon with breeding kribs. I heartely recommend them!

I have pearl gourami in the same tank as harlequins and they are not remotely bothered by each other,
Please note that the harlequins will only school on and off and most of the time they are knocking about the tank singly.
Again cherry barbs wont be at all bothered by them either as the harlequins are more of a top dweller

my harlquins are really active at night and some days they school and some days they dont
