I would like to get some peacock eels in my tank but at current the bottom of the tank consists of small pebbles. I would like to replace it or cover with a layer of silt/fine gravel so that the peacock eels can bury themselves like they do in the wild.
Can I do this even though the tank has already been established? I read up that alot of the bacteria live in the soil and shouldn't be disturbed. What would be the best way of doing this without placing too much stress on my current fish (I have 3 BN pleco)?
